Erasmus+ - general information


Erasmus + study stay is open to any student who is enrolled in an accredited bachelor, master or doctoral degree program and will be duly enrolled for study at Charles University throughout the study period abroad.


Students can complete a study stay in any country participating in Erasmus + except the Czech Republic.


Every student from the 2nd year of Bc study may complete the study stay.

For how long

Study stays can last from 3 to 12 months. A minimum stay of 3 months is considered 90 days.

How often

As part of the Erasmus + program, students can participate abroad repeatedly at each level of their higher education (Bc, Mgr / NMgr, Ph.D). The total pension for each level of study is 12 months (or 24 months for 5-year MSc programs), while these 12 (or 24) months may consist of a Student Mobility for Studies, a Student Mobility for Traineeship and / or a combination of these activities.

The selection procedure at the Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen, Charles University, always starts in mid-February for the following academic year (winter and summer semester.) Each applicant can register (file an application) for up to three different destinations. The application is filed through an on-line application:

It is also obligatory to submit following documents to Department of International Relations:

- Transcript of study results issued by the Study Department in English

- a certificate of knowledge of a foreign language issued by the Institute of Languages, Charles University in Pilsen (in the case of attending a foreign language course at ÚJ) or an internationally recognized certificate (TOEFL, FCE, Sprachdiplom, etc.)

- structured curriculum vitae in English / or language of instruction at a foreign university

- a letter of motivation in English / or language of instruction at a foreign university

The current list of partner universities is published together with the call for applications. LF UK in Pilsen has signed contracts with universities in Belgium, France, Finland, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, Hungary, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Austria, Greece, Spain, Sweden and Turkey.

There is no need to complete the study plan to apply. However, it is highly recommended to start thinking about the study plan during the application process. The study plan abroad must correspond to the study program that the student studies at LFP UK. Only subjects that have a recognized equivalent within the study program at the LFP UK can be recognized, the minimum number of credits for courses at the LFP UK is 15 / semester. The Vice-Dean for Study Affairs is authorized to approve the compatibility of individual subjects (compulsory, compulsory optional or optional).

The selection procedure is based on the award of points:

- Study average (56 - 0 points)

- Language (10 - 30 points)

- Bonus points (SVOČ, Buddy, faculty representation at regional / national / international competitions ..) (10 points)

- Motivation letter (1 point)

- Year of studies (1 point for each year of study)
